Support You Can Rely On - Anytime

About AccAdvisor

ACC Advisor is focused on supporting you while you rehabilitate, providing clear, practical guidance when ACC decisions affect your recovery, income, or next steps.

Delays and uncertainty can stall treatment, disrupt income, and make recovery harder than it needs to be. That’s why ACC Advisor is available when questions arise – not weeks later.

From understanding ACC cover and entitlements, to preparing the right emails or responses, our digital tool helps you make sense of what’s happening before small issues become bigger problems.

Our aim is simple: to help you stay focused on your recovery, while the ACC process is dealt with clearly, calmly, and early.

Clarity When Timing Matters

Some ACC moments matter more than others. Decisions about cover, reviews, medical evidence, or next steps can quietly shape everything that follows.

ACC Advisor is designed to support those moments – helping you slow things down, understand what’s in front of you, and respond with clarity before positions harden or options narrow.

It’s about knowing when a response matters, what to focus on, and how to move forward without escalating stress or uncertainty – so your recovery stays on track, not caught up in avoidable setbacks.

About Us Vision

Our Vision

A New Zealand where people dealing with ACC don’t lose time, treatment, or income simply because they didn’t have clear guidance early enough.

Where understanding your ACC position doesn’t require legal training, weeks of waiting, or the ability to afford specialist advice – just clear, timely information when it matters.

Our Mission

To give people early, practical ACC guidance that reduces risk, confusion, and delay.

ACC Advisor helps people understand what their ACC decisions mean, what options may be available, and how to respond – before small issues escalate into stalled recovery, lost income, or unnecessary disputes.

By providing clarity at the right time, ACC Advisor helps people move forward with confidence – whether they continue on their own or involve a lawyer or advocate later.

Mick Robertson

Founder

Built by Someone Who Knows the System – and Its Limits

ACC Advisor was created by Mick Robertson, who has spent 16 years working in ACC-related matters and has assisted more than 5,000 New Zealanders through real ACC problems.

Most people don’t struggle because their situation is weak – they struggle because they don’t know what ACC is actually allowed to do, what questions matter, or what to do next. Mick saw this gap repeatedly, especially as lawyers and advocates became increasingly overloaded and unavailable for early guidance.

ACC Advisor exists to fill that gap – not to replace legal or advocacy support, but to support it. It helps people understand their position earlier, prepare better information, and avoid costly mistakes before things escalate.

That way, when professional support is needed, people arrive informed, clearer, and more confident – and when it isn’t, they’re not left stuck or guessing.

ACC Advisor is about reducing risk, confusion, and delay – so recovery doesn’t depend on luck or access.

Laura Abbott

Technical and IT Lead

Built With Care – and Kept That Way

Laura is the Technical and IT Lead at ACC Advisor. She looks after the part most people never see – making sure the platform is reliable, secure, and easy to use when people are already under stress.

Laura’s focus is simple: this must be a place people feel safe asking hard questions. She’s responsible for how information is handled, how the system runs day to day, and how ACC Advisor continues to improve without becoming complicated or fragile.

ACC Advisor deals with sensitive situations. Laura makes sure the technology never adds pressure, risk, or uncertainty – so people can focus on understanding their options, not worrying about the platform they’re using whilst rehabilitating from an injury.
